The Koningsteen nature reserve
This nature reserve is located approximately 250m from Thorn. It is a fascinating place, and home to wild horses (Polish Koniks) and cattle (Scottish Galloways). It is a wonderful area for walking and cycling among the many rivers. Guided tours can also be arranged.

The River Maas
Thorn Lies by the River Maas. The Grote Hegge lake, on the edge of the White Town of Thorn, is just the place to sail a boat, surf, swim, or sunbathe to your heart's content.

Stevensweert, on an island in the Maas
This old fortified town was surrounded in 1633 by the Spaniards with ramparts and canals.
